Denis supported Wimbledon Football Club from when he was very young until they relocated to Milton Keynes and changed their name to MK Dons in 2001. From 2002 he switched his alliegance to AFC Wimbledon, the team that was started by fans and which entered The Football League in 2011, presently they are in Division One.

Denis used to go to most home matches of Wimbledon FC from when they entered the football league in 1977 to the end of the 1983/84 season. When they were promoted to the old 2nd Division, he missed the local friendly atmosphere of the lower leagues and supported them  from then on from the comfort of his armchair. He also supported AFC Bournmouth which is one of his grandson Louis's teams.
